Join a group of professionals dedicated to optimizing the safety and benefits of psychedelic use through screening, psychoeducation, and counseling
The Psychedelic Screener Mastermind Program is designed for persons that want to develop and hone their skills in screening for contraindications and other red flags, planning harm mitigation strategies and preparation plans, and gain the confidence and competence to begin supporting others or organizations in the psychedelic renaissance.
Program Inspiration and Background
Over the past few years, I’ve been receiving more and more emails from professionals that are interested in expanding their careers to incorporate psychedelics or generally wanting and wondering how they can improve the safety and benefits of psychedelic use while helping to usher in a new paradigm of healing, therapeutics, and psychospiritual well-being. I tell them there are many roles persons can play – policy change advocate, scientist or investigator, integration therapist, retreat center facilitator, legal expert, harm reductionist, medical director for spiritual center or church…the list goes on. There’s surely a role for many persons and professionals to pivot towards or grow into no matter what your background.
As a clinical psychiatric pharmacist, many of my best skillsets include evaluating clinical information, psychiatric illness, psychotropic medications and drug interactions, as well as performing clinical assessments. Naturally, I’ve been gravitated to help by evaluating risks and benefits of psychedelic use, screening for potential for drug interactions, formulating harm reduction strategies, and providing psychoeducation relating to psychedelics. Now it really feels like the right time to create a program that brings others into this line of work. It is going to be vital to supporting the array of groups and persons interested in facilitating safe experiences.
I’m incredibly excited to announce that the Psychedelic Screener Mastermind Program is here!
The Psychedelic Screener Mastermind Program is designed to take your knowledge of psychedelics and their clinical use to the next level. It aims to help prepare you to work in harm reduction efforts by screening applications for psychedelic use for red flags, contraindications, drug interactions, and potential risks of psychedelic use. Through immersion in a small cohort of like-minded professionals and with practice over time, you will gain confidence, competence, and skill sets needed to effectively screen applications for use of various psychedelics.

Testimonials - What are Graduates Saying?
“Ben’s Psychedelic Screener Mastermind program gave me knowledge and confidence to be able to determine important drug and disease state interactions with psychedelic therapy. The course also provided guidance around ethical considerations, monitoring, set and setting selection, grey areas with concomitant drug and disease states, and overall harm reduction in the space. I learned valuable skills for building relationships and creating a nurturing consulting environment for those wanting to undergo psychedelic therapy. Ben provides a lens of performing screening from someone who has had their own experiences in the space, which is important to me when considering a program. I’m grateful I completed this challenging and rewarding course, and don’t feel I would be moving forward in my journey without this background.” - Dr. Erika Beerbower, PharmD
"As a psychiatrist, I learned so much practical information to support harm reduction advising and consultation. It was wonderful to learn nuances of psychedelic interactions and how to approach complex medical situations. Ben Malcolm has his finger on the pulse of current research data, which is so hard to stay on top of with the exponential growth of this field. Our lively case discussions were invaluable to allow me to contribute to safety in this important arena of exploration." Dr. Nan Herron, MD
"Taking the Psychedelic Screener Mastermind with Dr. Ben Malcolm was a game-changer for me. It gave me exactly what I’d been looking for: clarity and confidence with assessing safety when clients are exploring psychedelics, especially around medications and mental health history. Ben has a real gift for making complex information feel approachable without watering it down. The sessions felt collaborative and grounded, and I walked away with tools I now use regularly in my practice. I’d highly recommend this to anyone supporting others in the psychedelic space. It's an essential layer of professional competence and care" - Dr. Luke Sniewski
